INTEGRATIVE AND INDIVIDUALIZED THERAPY FOR CHILDREN AND ADULTS
River Psychology Group is a team of experienced clinicians serving the mental health needs of children, teens, young adults, adults, and women in various stages of their reproductive journeys. We offer in-person sessions in Brooklyn and Westchester and telehealth sessions throughout New York State.
OUR APPROACH
We use an integrative and individualized approach, whether the goals are to address specific issues or to foster a more comprehensive sense of fulfillment, well-being, and insight.
We draw from a range of evidence-based frameworks including cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), psychodynamic psychotherapy, play therapy, family systems theory, and acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT).
With us, the therapeutic process is characterized by collaboration and active participation. Our clinicians are highly experienced in both child and adult psychotherapy and develop a strong therapeutic rapport with each client.
WHAT WE OFFER
Child/Adolescent Therapy
We work with children of all ages to build resilience, confidence and social and emotional well-being. We meet each child where they are at, creating a safe and nurturing space where kids can feel safe to express and process emotions.
Adult Individual Therapy
We provide psychotherapy services to adults of all ages using a range of techniques stemming from evidence-based modalities including cognitive behavioral (CBT), strengths-based, psychodynamic, and acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT) frameworks.
Our practice has an expertise in the treatment of perinatal mood and anxiety disorders (PMADs) and specializes in supporting individuals and families going through infertility, pregnancy loss, pregnancy, or postpartum challenges.
Perinatal Mental Health
Parenting Support
We provide support to parents dealing with children’s behavioral, emotional or relational challenges at home. We draw from a range of evidence-based approaches, including parent child interactive therapy (PCIT), parent management training (PMT), and supportive parenting for anxious childhood emotions (SPACE).
We are clinical psychologists, moms, and sisters. We built this group to provide a centralized resource for helping people at multiple stages of life.
We joined our individual practices – one child/adolescent focused and one adult/perinatal mental health focused – to create a group that can focus on both.
We strive to bring our humor, individuality, family-based, and relational approach to each individual we work with and to provide personalized and expert care to each of our clients.
